  • When should I arrive at the clinic?
Please arrive at the clinic as close to the appointment time as you can. If you arrive too early I don’t have the space to accommodate you. If you are running late I can only hold appointments for 15 minutes.
  • Where is the clinic located?
Beaut Clinic Chester, 28 Handbridge, Chester, CH4 7JE
  • What skin types and hair types can you laser?
Laser hair removal works best on people with fair skin and dark hairs. However, I am still able to laser all skin types and hair types with great results due to using the latest technology. If you have darker skin or ginger hairs this may require additional sessions to see your best results.
  • How long should I wait between sessions?
Sessions will start off between 6-8 weeks apart. This is to capture a new hair growth stage as only 10-15% can get targeted at each session. The more times you come for laser the hair growth will reduce from shaving daily, to weekly, then monthly etc. Once you are at this stage and your hair has stopped growing back, you are only required to come for laser when the hairs start to regrow.
  • What can’t you laser?
I can not laser over tattoos, moles, scars, white/grey hairs. I can not laser over sunburned skin or people with certain medical conditions, please contact me to find out more.
  • Can you laser tanned skin between sessions if I go on Holiday?
Yes, you can get laser when you have tanned skin, it is important to note that the effectiveness of the treatment may be reduced due to the increased melanin in the skin. This means that you may need more treatments to achieve the desired results. However, you must avoid the sun for 7 days before and after your session and wear SPF as much as possible on the lead up to your session as I can not laser over sunburn.
  • Does laser hair removal hurt?
No it should not hurt, it should feel like a flicking of a rubber band against the skin, some associate the feeling as plucking of the hairs, the sensation on a scale of 1-5 should feel around a 3/4 for effective results. You must feel the sensation described for the best results.
  • How many sessions will I need?
It’s impossible to say how many you would need as everyone is different. However, people see their best results at around 6-8 sessions but you might need more or less. If you follow the correct aftercare you will see your best results sooner. You must attend your top up sessions as and when the hairs start to reappear to maintain hair free results.
  • How does laser hair removal work?
The energy from the laser will heat up the hair follicle enough to damage the follicle to prevent it from growing back.
  • Is laser hair removal permanent?
It’s possible for hairs to grow back over time as we have dormant hairs resting under the skin waiting to get activated. Top up sessions are required to maintain hairless and flawless results.
  • How do I prepare for my session?
    • You must shave prior to arriving to the clinic. Ensure to get as close to the skin as possible for best results. • Do not wax, tweeze, epilate or use hair removal creams for 4 weeks before treatment (and stop using them going forwards). • Do not use any products that cause photosensitivity or thinning of the skin, such as retinol, Retin A, Acids these must be stopped 4 weeks before you can start treatment. • Avoid sun exposure for 7 days before and after laser treatment. Use SPF as much as possible on the lead up to your appointment. If you have sunburn we would have to push your session back. • Your skin must be clear of any products such as moisturiser, deodorant, perfume etc.
  • What aftercare should I follow?
    • Avoid heat in the area for 48 hours, avoid hot baths, hot showers, steam rooms, jazuzzi, exercise etc. • No moisturiser and lotion for 48 hours, only use Aloe Vera gel to cool the skin and prevent irritation. • 1 week after treatment exfoliate the skin to help speed up the hair shredding process. Exfoliate every 3-4 days. • Avoid sun exposure for 7 days before and after laser treatment, Use SPF as much as possible to protect the skin barrier. • Do not pick, scratch, wax, or tweeze the area.
